construction of fairlife's manufacturing facility in Webster, NY is
underway. This state-of-the-art, 750k sq ft, greenfield plant is
expected to be operational in late 2025 and will lay the foundation
for fairlife's next phase of growth as the leading dairy nutrition
provider. While coupling the industry s latest technologies and
fairlife's operational excellence to build this world-class
facility, fairlife plans to hire 250 new employees and bring in
approximately 5 million lbs. of milk a day, with room to grow over
the coming years. -job purpose: The Mechanical Engineer is a
critical role in the commissioning, start-up of fairlife s state of
the art, greenfield facility in Webster, NY. The Mechanical
Engineer continuously evaluates the filler and blow mold machines
for reliability and effectiveness. Working closely with OEM s the
mechanical engineer will be heavily involved in ensuring filling
and blow mold operations are installed, commissioned and validated
effectively. In fulfilling this role, the Mechanical Engineer works
closely with engineering team department members, maintenance, and
operations to solve complex problems while building the knowledge
and capabilities of the larger team. They provide day-to-day
technical support on all aspects of plant machine center
operations. The Mechanical Engineer works with maintenance planning
and operations to plan and schedule all preventative and predictive
maintenance for machines as needed. They will act as the subject
matter expert for new system start up and commissioning for OEM s,
installation teams, and system integrators to ensure proper
transfer of documented engineering and program changes, manuals,
and adequate training on the installation/changes that have been
completed. - - -responsibilities: -Design, test and validate
mechanical solutions to address chronic issues and improve
equipment reliability -Lead technical support requests and
troubleshooting activities on the filler, blow mold, and other
packaging related issues to address root cause -Develop proposed
solutions and process improvements that address gaps in quality,
safety, productivity and cost -Schedule downtime repairs and
equipment modifications with operations leaders, maintenance, and
stakeholders to ensure effective use of time and resources -Work
hand-in-hand with OEM technicians and utilize all resources to
eliminate downtime -Demonstrate leadership skills by effective
knowledge transfer and technical training of mechanics and
operators -Participates in plant safety, health, and environmental
programs. -Closely collaborate with manufacturing and engineering
team to clearly define engineering acceptance standards and
specifications for new and modified equipment -Validate and
characterize new processes, equipment and fixtures for production
implementation focused eliminating defects -Create detailed
manufacturing instructions including SOP s for maintenance and
operations rebuilds, adjustments, and troubleshooting -Collaborate
with the Quality, Manufacturing and Maintenance Managers to reduce
and eliminate downtime using a strategic project management and
operational insights -Perform BDA and RCA s for reoccurring
breakdowns and process failures -Incorporate Lean Manufacturing
best practices and working in a culture focused on continuous
improvement -Able to understand and edit engineering drawings,
operating manuals, P&ID s using AutoCAD -Regular use of a
variety of machines and tools is essential. -Other duties may be
assigned. -skills/qualifications required: -Bachelor s degree in
Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering discipline -High
speed bottling and filling experience -Experience in PLC
programming, controls, and data analytics -Good math and reasoning
ability is essential. -SolidWorks experience required. -Six Sigma
LEAN and/or TPM experience in a manufacturing environment -
-Process technology, including aseptic and hygienic manufacturing
is a plus -Understanding in utilities, HP air compressors, boilers,
HVAC, and other support equipment is a plus - -working conditions:
-Sitting/Standing/Walking: Stands, walks, and sits during
completion of job responsibilities. -Lifting/Carrying: Occasional
lifting requirements as job demands. Must be able to lift a minimum
of 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.Ability to work in a fast-paced
high demand production facilities and the ability to be able to
perform those duties. - -food safety requirements: -Notify
supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that
may affect product quality or food safety. -Understand, observe,
and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container
policy while in the Production Areas. -Perform all duties necessary
to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards
as prioritized by the Company. -Ability to initiate action to
prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety
and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or
safety system. -Identify and record any problems relating to Food
Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality
system, or safety system. -Control further processing or delivery
of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues
until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been
corrected. -In the event of absence, another employee with the same
skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as
required. - -position location: Webster, NY -reports to:
Engineering & Reliability Manager -exempt/nonexempt: Exempt -travel
requirements: 50% travel for first year, 10% thereafter - -*Base
pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge,
