Position Summary The Metrology Technician III (Instrumentation
Technician) is responsible for the installation, calibration,
maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex laboratory,
process, and utility instrumentation in a cGMP facility. Working in
a primarily paperless environment, this role collaborates closely
with Maintenance, Operations, and Automation teams to ensure
equipment reliability. This position handles moderately complex
assignments, requiring sound judgment in problem-solving and making
routine recommendations to management. While routine tasks are
performed independently, general instructions are provided for new
assignments. Duties & Responsibilities Perform preventative
maintenance, customer request, and corrective instrumentation work
orders in support of the LOTTE BIOLOGICS Syracuse Bio Campus.
Perform instrumentation work on liquid level, temperature,
pressure, liquid flow, gas flow, speed, control valves, I/P
transducers, solenoids, PLC's, distributed I/O systems, and other
manufacturing and utility system instrumentation. Support
manufacturing through participation on 24x7 maintenance coverage
model (10-hour evening shift Tuesday through Friday). Emergency
Call In standby coverage expected every 6 weeks. Maintain assigned
area of ownership within the facility to support inspection
readiness and general facility upkeep for support of commercial
manufacturing. Utilize an electronic maintenance work order system
to document all performed work in compliance with regulatory
requirements. Operate within regulatory governed facility in
regards to documentation management, training compliance, deviation
management, procedure adherence, and corrective/preventative action
implementation. Cross-train to support integrated mechanical
maintenance, critical utilities, and instrumentation team. Assists
in qualification activities related to instrumentation. Provides
technical support as Metrology SME for engineering projects towards
improvement of processing equipment, utilities, and facilities
instrumentation. Provides qualified instruction (Train the Trainer
Program) to perform departmental technical training. Operate as
back-up to Facilities and Engineering Shift Supervisor on daily
coordination as needed. Education & Experience Minimum of four
years of experience in calibration and instrumentation, applying
principles and practices. Associate's Degree in Electronics
Technology or equivalent training with a strong foundation in
scientific principles. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Proven ability
to work effectively in team environments, contributing to shared
goals through collaboration and accountability. Proficiency with
Maximo or similar computerized maintenance management systems
(CMMS). General understanding of operating principles of industrial
instrumentation and control systems. General knowledge of P&IDs
control theories and techniques and have ability to read,
interpret, and troubleshoot engineering drawings, P&IDs, and
electrical schematics with assistance when needed. Knowledge of
basic relay ladder logic, programmable logic controllers, and
distributed control systems. Knowledge of DeviceNet and Foundation
Fieldbus instrumentation, DeltaV distributed control system, and
Rosemount's A.M.S. Software desired. Comprehensive knowledge of
instrumentation calibration and maintenance for biotech
manufacturing equipment. Demonstrated ability with common computer
tools such as word processing, spreadsheet, and web-based
applications. Work experience where attention to detail and
personal accountability were critical to success. Demonstrates good
interpersonal skills, customer focus, and professionalism.

mindset. Strong commitment to workplace safety, including pre-task
planning, adherence to safety procedures, and accountability.
Physical Demands This position is located a medium scale
manufacturing facility with classified areas requiring appropriate
personal protective equipment (PPE). This role will require contact
with hazardous materials such as caustic, acids and steam. Frequent
bending twisting, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and reaching is
required. Role also requires frequent unassisted lifting (not to
exceed 50 lbs.). Work Environment This position is a team-based
position that requires shift work, holidays, emergency call-ins and
overtime. Schedule is a 10-hour evening (Tuesday through Friday).
Supervisory Responsibilities Operate as back-up to Facilities and
Engineering Shift Supervisor on daily coordination as needed. Shift
Differential 10% Target Bonus 5% Work Location: East Syracuse, NY
