Job Description: Saab, Inc. is seeking an experienced and
motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering
team to develop complex electronic surveillance systems for
commercial and government customers. This role is critical to
successfully developing products and executing projects to achieve
Saab’s vision – It’s a human right to feel safe. This position is
located at our East Syracuse, NY, office. Responsibilities include:
Lead development of primary and secondary radar products which
provide safety-critical airport surveillance throughout the world
Lead technical investigation and top-level design for new feature
development and change requests from both internal and external
stakeholders. Develop MATLAB tools to support performance
prediction, system and product verification, and system analysis
Develop and propose new technologies and capabilities to enhance
product performance Develop and maintain specifications and
technical documentation to support customer deliverables and
internal systems engineering processes. Balance competing interests
from multiple stakeholder groups Coordinate with product
development management to ensure technical, cost, and schedule
objectives are achieved while maintaining acceptable levels of
risk. Mentor and lead junior engineers within your team and
throughout the organization. Support technical and cost proposal
preparation for future programs. Domestic and international travel
may be required, up to 10%. Compensation Range: $115,700-$150,500

experience, key skills, and education/training. Skills and
Experience: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics,
Mathematics, or related discipline 7 years of relevant experience
in safety-critical industries (e.g., aerospace, defense/military,
medical, nuclear, etc.) Demonstrated proficiency with
electromechanical and/or embedded software systems Demonstrated
MATLAB programming and data analysis skills Strong interpersonal
skills with the ability to form productive relationships within a
team Excellent written and oral communications skills Ability to
lead and grow junior engineers Desired: Advanced degree in
Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline Experience
with RF systems, sensor data processing, position estimation,
and/or tracking Strong Linux background in embedded and/or server
systems Experience with Eurocontrol, FAA, or other air traffic
procedures, operations, and systems Experience with requirements
management, detailed design, and system/subsystem integration
Experience with networked computer systems, cybersecurity, and/or
system hardening Citizenship Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen,
Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as
