holds/observation unit- If census is high patients may be held in
our emergency departments. These patents have been admitted and are
under the care of an attending physician. To care for these
patients, float pool staff go to the emergency department and treat
these patients as if they are on an inpatient unit. Staff are NOT
taking care of emergency room patients, inpatient holds only. Staff
