Job Description Job Description Job Title: Nursing Shift Supervisor Department: Long Term Care Location: DeMay Living Center Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule: Eve/Night, 2p-10 and/or 10p-6a SUMMARY: - The Off Shift Director of Nursing is a Nursing Leader who serves as a resource for problem solving, provides clinical expertise, facilitates staff mentoring and coaching, facilitates patient flow during the off shifts (typically, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) RESPONSIBILITIES: - · Oversees & assures short & long term Nursing Dept. staff schedules per established guidelines. · Facilitates units in emergency medical assessment & care of residents including interventions, transportation & other resources needed. · Serves as a clinical resource person to staff in problem solving, assessments, special procedures & clinical skill enhancements. · Coordinates with the Nursing Staff resident units & admissions dept. the rapid admission of residents including obtaining evaluations as indicated. · Serves as adjunct to staff development coordinator in promoting planned in-services to nursing staff as per master schedule/plan. · Provides continuity of resident status with hospital supervisory staff, and Nursing Administration. · Supervises the M.D.R. directing, interacting with residents, families and staff in providing safe, pleasant mealtime and assuring appropriate completion of required records. · Serves as major facilitator in QA program for Nursing Dept. including completion of assessments of designated audits & resultant actions required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: · Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program •Minimum of two to three years of RN experience · Registered in NYS as a registered nurse professional. . Basic Life Support (BLS) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: · Bachelor’s degree preferred. · LT PAC nursing experience preferred. · One year of supervisory experience preferred. EDUCATION: LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. PAY RANGE: $40.50 - $53.30 CITY: Newark POSTAL CODE: 14513 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
