Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Acute Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 01/19/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, rotating Employment Type: Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Full-time day/night rotation (3x12s - 7 AM to 7:30 PM), including every other weekend, holidays, and 2 on-call shifts per 4-week period. Job Description The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical skills, and communication skills to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families. The ED RN assesses patient needs, identifies urgent or emergent care priorities, and collaboratively provides direct care, applies appropriate interventions, and evaluates patient progress. The ED RN demonstrates skill in the use of various invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, and therapeutic interventions appropriate for managing life-threatening and routine emergency situations. Responsibilities Assess patient needs during triage and assign priority of care in accordance with Triage Standards. Conduct primary and secondary assessments of patients, documenting critical deviations and necessary interventions. Maintain effective communication with patients and families, providing updates and addressing comfort needs. Collaborate with team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Educate patients and families on care and treatment plans, assessing understanding and retention. Safeguard public safety through adherence to infection prevention strategies. Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and make referrals for post-emergency care. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Two years of acute hospital experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least one year in an Emergency Department.
