Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Geneva, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,056 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Profession: Nursing Specialty: Acute Med/Surg Duration: Full-Time Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (3 shifts per week) Experience: One (1) year experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse License: Client Registered Nurse Licensure required Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS Must-Have: The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical skills, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs and develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The RN provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The RN develops specialized skills in caring for patients admitted for medical conditions. He/She provides care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with medical conditions. The RN is accountable for patient and family education to aid understanding of self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. The Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a healing environment. The RN applies nursing knowledge and skills in the delivery of care. The RN assesses patient and family needs through active listening and analyzing data obtained through observation and communication. In collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and healthcare team members, the RN sets goals and monitors patient progress. The RN adjusts the plan based on patient response or changes in condition, reprioritizing needs as necessary. The RN promotes, advocates for, and protects the health, safety, and rights of the patient. The RN encourages mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. The RN teaches others as appropriate and delegates tasks consistent with individual education and training. The RN understands and adheres to infection prevention strategies to safeguard public safety. The RN motivates patients and families by teaching them what is needed for continued care at home. The RN assesses patient and family learning styles and structures educational sessions to maximize understanding. The RN seeks teachable moments during care delivery to emphasize pertinent information. The RN documents the education provided and the patient's response. The RN systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and uses the results to initiate changes in practice. The RN engages in self-evaluation of practice, identifying strengths and areas for professional development. The RN takes accountability for increasing knowledge and enhancing skills. The RN uses logic and reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. The RN's practice reflects the importance of making a meaningful connection with patients and families. The RN strives to understand what is most important to the patient and family, acknowledging their central role in care. The RN embraces the importance of creating a healing environment as a key element of professional nursing practice. The RN demonstrates skill in applying interventions, including medication administration. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated, and required tasks may involve contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
