Registered Respiratory Therapist Location: Geneva, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,912 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 14 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapist Specialty: Acute Care Duration: Per Diem Shift: Night Shift Availability Required Hours per Shift: Minimum 24 hours per 4-week period Experience: Previous acute care experience preferred License: Client Licensure Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA/RQI Certifications Specifically Required) Must-Have: Experience in related field Description: Under the general direction of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist provides professional and technical care to patients requiring specialized respiratory interventions. The Respiratory Therapist collaborates with patients, families, peers, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team in delivering healthcare services to a specific patient population. The role involves assessing patient needs, contributing to the plan of care, implementing respiratory regimens, and evaluating their effectiveness based on patient needs. Documentation of care in the medical record is essential. Care delivery is based on age-appropriate knowledge and adherence to hospital policies, nursing protocols, and professional standards. The Respiratory Therapist effectively communicates fundamental patient and family information to health care team members while seeking feedback. Consideration of physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs is essential to promote dignity and healing. Responsibilities include obtaining and analyzing physiological specimens, interpreting physiological data, and performing tests of the cardiopulmonary system. Documentation and appropriate reporting of results are required. Key tasks include the application and monitoring of medical gases and environmental control systems, mechanical ventilator support, airway management, bronchopulmonary hygiene, pharmacological agents related to respiratory care, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and hemodynamic cardiovascular support. The role also includes focusing on family and patient education activities to promote understanding of disease processes, medical therapy, and self-help. Maintaining current knowledge and competency in respiratory care practices is vital. Participation in mentoring and orientation of staff is encouraged.
