Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Geneva, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,150 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Geneva, New York, 14456! Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Full-Time, Day or Night Shift Hours per Shift: 3x12 scheduled as needed, including every other weekend and holiday Experience: Two years acute hospital experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least one year of experience in an Emergency Department License: Current Registered Nurse licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification (must be AHA or RQI) Must-Have: - Two years of RN experience, with at least one year in an Emergency Department Description: The Emergency Department Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The ED RN assesses patient needs, identifies the urgent or emergent care priority, and collaboratively provides direct care. The RN applies appropriate interventions and evaluates patient progress. The ED RN evidences skill in the use of various invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, and therapeutic interventions appropriate to manage life-threatening and routine emergency situations. The ED RN utilizes the principles of relationship-based care to alleviate anxiety, provide information, and address pain, discomfort, and safety. He or she assesses the physiological, psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs of patients of all age groups, their families, and support systems as appropriate. The RN connects with patients and families during triage. The RN identifies the initial management of patients and assigns priority of care in accordance with triage standards. Establishing rapport with patients and families, the RN addresses comfort needs and listens carefully, assessing nonverbal communication and providing frequent updates. The RN conducts a primary assessment of critical need, detects and documents any major deviation from the norm for all age groups within acceptable time frames, and correctly identifies the necessary steps or interventions required. The RN uses direct observation, patient or family interviews, EMS reports, and data to conduct secondary assessments. The RN identifies contributing factors, health history, events, or activities preceding the emergent health event. He or she assesses the psychosocial needs of each individual and documents and reports any suspicion of domestic violence or abuse in all age groups. The RN reassesses the patient to identify response to treatment and changes in condition while responding appropriately. The RN encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members to accomplish the best possible patient outcomes. He or she teaches others as appropriate and delegates tasks and interventions consistent with individual education, training, and scope of practice. The RN understands the personal responsibility to safeguard public safety through compliance with infection prevention strategies. He or she prepares patients, parents, or families for diagnostic procedures and treatments. The RN makes appropriate referrals for post-emergency care. He or she teaches patients what is needed to continue care or healing at home. The RN assesses patient and family learning styles and structures sessions to maximize understanding. He or she asks questions to evaluate retention of key points in the education and discharge instruction. The RN seeks to understand what is most important to the patient or family, acknowledging that they are the central focus of all care and services. The RN embraces the importance of creating a Healing Environment as a key element of professional nursing practice. He or she keeps patients and significant others informed of the process of care and anticipates their needs.
