We are seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a locum tenens assignment in New York. This opportunity begins on Feb 1, 2026, for a 75-day contract, offering Monday through Friday day shifts from 7am to 5pm. The surgeon will focus on hospital-based cardiac surgery, primarily in the operating room, with some ICU and floor coverage. Job Details Location: New York Start Date: Feb 1, 2026 LOA: 75 days Provider Type Needed: Cardiothoracic Surgeon Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm; call varies (1-2 evenings per week, operating call from home; call ratio 1/week) Responsibilities and Duties Perform first assist in cardiac surgical procedures Harvest veins and retrieve vascular tissues for bypass conduits Insert chest tubes as needed Provide perioperative care in the operating room, with additional ICU and floor coverage Participate in call rotation as scheduled Maintain high standards of patient safety and clinical excellence Additional Information NCCPA required Active New York State license required BLS and ACLS required Board certification in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery required Must have cardiac surgery operating experience including first assist and vein harvest Robotic surgery experience is a plus Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
