Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Embark on a transformative
journey as a Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology in Penn Yan,
New York. This is more than a job—it's a chance to stand at the
forefront of cancer care, guiding patients through complex
treatment paths with empathy, skill, and scientific rigor. In this
role you will blend meticulous clinical practice with compassionate
communication, helping patients manage therapies, side effects, and
survivorship planning. The impact you make will ripple beyond the
bedside, influencing families, care teams, and the broader
community. And when you step off shift, you’ll be greeted by the
natural beauty of upstate New York—the Finger Lakes region—with
lakeside sunsets, charming main streets, and easy access to parks,
wineries, and outdoor adventures that refresh and inspire. This
setting offers balance between dedicated clinical work and
restorative downtime, supporting you as you grow both personally
and professionally. Penn Yan sits in the heart of the Finger Lakes,
a community renowned for its scenic beauty, friendly neighborhoods,
and a pace that honors both expert practice and quality of life.
You’ll appreciate the charm of a close-knit town while enjoying
proximity to larger urban centers for continuing education, campus
seminars, and richer cultural experiences. Working in this location
also opens doors to the chance to serve in varied settings across
the United States, expanding your clinical horizons, exposing you
to diverse patient populations, and enhancing your adaptability as
a compassionate oncology nurse. This assignment starts March 2,
2026, with a weekly pay range of $1,229–$1,301, reflecting
competitive compensation for the specialized skill set you bring.
While the primary assignment centers in Penn Yan, you may have
opportunities to collaborate across multiple sites and regions,
enriching your practice and broadening your professional network.
Hours for this role are determined by project needs, and while
there is no guaranteed minimum, you’ll find the support you need to
plan intelligently and maintain work–life balance as you advance.
As an Oncology Registered Nurse, you will contribute to
comprehensive cancer care through a spectrum of responsibilities
that strengthen the patient journey from diagnosis through
treatment and beyond. You will perform initial and ongoing
assessments, monitor chemotherapy and infusion therapies, manage
port-a-cath access and safety, and vigilantly observe for adverse
reactions or cytopenias. Your clinical duties will include
administering medications, managing symptom relief strategies, and
providing targeted patient and family education on treatment plans,
at-home care, nutrition, immunizations, and survivorship resources.
You will coordinate care with oncologists, pharmacists, social
workers, nutritionists, and physical therapists to design
individualized care plans. You will participate in tumor boards,
quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice
projects to elevate outcomes. The role also supports your
professional growth—opportunities to pursue specialty
certification, take on preceptorship for new hires, contribute to
research efforts, and lead elements of program development within a
dynamic oncology team. This path is designed to foster clinical
mastery while enabling leadership capabilities, enabling you to
guide peers, mentor students, and influence best practices in
oncology nursing. The program includes compelling benefits designed
to attract and retain top talent. In addition to competitive
compensation, there is a welcome bonus and housing assistance to
help you settle comfortably in a new community. You’ll have access
to extension opportunities that align with your career goals,
allowing you to lengthen contracts as you demonstrate success and
professional fit. Our comprehensive support system is a cornerstone
of the experience: a dedicated 24/7 assistance team stands by you
while traveling with the company, ensuring seamless logistics,
readiness for any clinical or personal challenge, and rapid
escalation of needs. You’ll receive robust clinical resources,
continuing education allowances, and access to mentors who
understand the nuances of oncology nursing. This program is
structured to respect your time, celebrate your expertise, and
recognize your dedication with a culture that prioritizes
well-being, career advancement, and a supportive, inclusive work
environment. The company is deeply committed to empowering its
staff. You’ll find a culture of mentorship and opportunity, with
clear pathways for skill expansion, credential attainment,
leadership development, and cross-functional collaboration. We
believe in recognizing your contributions through feedback-rich
performance conversations, ongoing training, and real opportunities
to shape patient care practices. The environment emphasizes
collaboration, resilience, and respect, so you can grow confidently
within a team that values your voice, your clinical judgment, and
your compassionate approach to oncology nursing. The organization
