Job Description Job Description About the Role: The Clinical
Research LPN/RN plays a critical role in supporting clinical trials
and research studies aimed at advancing medical knowledge and
improving patient care. This position involves direct patient
interaction, including administering treatments, monitoring patient
health, and collecting accurate clinical data in compliance with
study protocols. The LPN/RN will collaborate closely with
physicians, research coordinators, and other healthcare
professionals to ensure the integrity and quality of clinical
research activities. They are responsible for maintaining detailed
documentation and adhering to regulatory requirements to protect
patient safety and data confidentiality. Ultimately, this role
contributes to the successful execution of clinical trials that can
lead to new therapies and improved health outcomes. Minimum
Qualifications: Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or
Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States. Minimum of 2
years clinical nursing experience, preferably in a hospital or
outpatient setting. Basic knowledge of clinical research principles
and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines. Strong understanding
of patient care standards and infection control procedures. Ability
to maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation. Preferred
Qualifications: Experience working in clinical research or a
related healthcare research environment. Certification in Clinical
Research Nursing (CRN) or equivalent. Familiarity with electronic
data capture (EDC) systems and clinical trial management software.
Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements such as FDA, IRB, and
HIPAA compliance. Strong communication skills for effective patient
education and interdisciplinary collaboration. Responsibilities:
Assist in the recruitment and screening of study participants
according to protocol criteria. Administer medications and
treatments as prescribed within the scope of the clinical trial.
Monitor patient vital signs and overall health status throughout
the study duration. Collect, record, and report clinical data
accurately and timely in compliance with Good Clinical Practice
(GCP) guidelines. Coordinate with the research team to schedule
patient visits, procedures, and follow-ups. Ensure adherence to all
regulatory and ethical standards governing clinical research.
Educate patients and their families about study procedures,
potential risks, and benefits. Manage and maintain study supplies
and equipment necessary for clinical trial activities. Skills: The
Clinical Research LPN/RN utilizes clinical nursing skills daily to
provide direct patient care and ensure participant safety during
clinical trials. Attention to detail and organizational skills are
essential for accurate data collection and documentation, which
supports the integrity of research outcomes. Effective
communication skills enable the nurse to educate patients about
study protocols and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to
coordinate trial activities. Familiarity with regulatory standards
and ethical considerations guides the nurse in maintaining
compliance and protecting patient rights. Additionally, proficiency
with clinical software tools enhances efficiency in managing study
data and scheduling.
