Job Description:
UniFirst Corporation, a leader in providing workplace uniforms
and protective work wear, is seeking a Safety Compliance Specialist
to join our Sustainability & Regulatory Compliance department. In
this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all our
products and services meet the strict safety standards and
regulatory requirements applicable in the United States, Europe,
and Canada. This position involves comprehensive oversight of our
company’s compliance policies, conducting risk assessments, and
facilitating training programs to ensure safety and compliance
across all levels of the organization. Develop, implement, and
monitor company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with
federal, state, and international safety regulations. Conduct
regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify
potential hazards and implement corrective actions. Prepare and
maintain reports and documentation concerning regulatory compliance
matters. Coordinate with different departments to ensure that all
aspects of safety and compliance are understood and implemented.
Lead training and development sessions for employees on
compliance-related topics, including workplace safety standards and
emergency response protocols. Stay updated with changes to
legislation and regulations that impact the company and communicate
updates to relevant departments. Advise management on the
implications of current and emerging laws, including potential
impacts to the organization. Strong knowledge of safety compliance
and regulations both domestically and internationally. Excellent
communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to
manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft
Office Suite and compliance management software. Medical Insurance
Life Insurance 401k Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred. Knowledge of ISO
14001 and 45001 standards is advantageous.
