Job Description:
Summary: To perform housekeeping and janitorial services at
assigned buildings to keep facilities in clean and orderly
condition. Essential Functions: Clean building floors by sweeping,
mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Gather and empty trash.
Service, clean, and supply restrooms. Clean and polish furniture
and fixtures. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using
soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. Dust
furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. Mix water and detergents
in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to
specifications. Steam-clean or shampoo carpets as assigned. Strip,
seal, finish, and polish floors as assigned. Follow procedures for
the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to
prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Monitor building security
and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after
operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure
that hazards are not created. Move heavy furniture, equipment, and
supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks as needed.
Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and
maintenance duties as needed. Conduct one’s self in a professional
manner as an employee of The Arc GLOW. Other duties as assigned
Reporting Responsibilities: Reports to: Assistant Business Services
Manager – South Business Services Manager – North Supervisory
Responsibilities: N/A Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to
work as part of a team Ability to perform physical tasks Dependable
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of
time, as well as to sit, stand and stoop Able to safely lift up to
50 pounds Ability to operate all janitorial maintenance equipment
including: auto-scrubber, buffer, mop, vacuum etc. Working
Conditions: Frequent travel to other sites Varied work locations
depending on the needs of the work site Occasional dirty, dusty,
and contaminated environments. Minimum Qualifications: Cleaning
experience helpful
