Job Description:
L3Harris' Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Sr. Specialist Electrical Engineer- Test Support Lead to join our Test Engineering team. This position will be based at our Rochester facility.
Essential Functions:
This electrical engineer will Lead a small team of Test Engineers and Engineering Technicians in maintaining the test infrastructure for a production department in our Rochester Production facility. Products in this facility are Military radios, amplifiers and accessories. This role is an active support engineer who works alongside the support staff. In addition, the lead is responsible for preparing and reporting out to leadership on quarterly metrics, strategic improvement projects, and functional spotlights.

• Responsible for maintaining and improving, cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting, equipment and systems
  
• Guides a small team in assigning priorities and providing technical direction
  
• Works with Operations department staff to improve production metrics influenced by test
  
• Performs engineering level RF/analog/digital troubleshoot and measurement tasks as well as operational tests and fault isolation on radio systems
  
• Uses a variety of test and measurement equipment to evaluate radio equipment performance
  
• Analyze and support need for additional production capacity and capability across supported product lines.
  
• Identify opportunities for improvement and conceptualize innovative solutions to drive strategic initiatives with organizational impact such as test time reductions and yield improvements.
  
• Create proposals for Test Engineering capital and expense budget with consideration of new test development, equipment/infrastructure obsolescence, and factory sustainment.
  
• Prepare test and diagnostic software, design test fixtures, update test procedures for new and existing products
  
• Develop, debug, optimize test software using National Instruments LabVIEW, Test Stand
  
• Document test hardware and software in alignment with test engineering standards
  
• Instruct technicians in the completion of test requirements as described above
  
• Ensures production goals & metrics are met from a test perspective
  
• Create/Update test station documentation items such as MTP's, Station BOM's, AMR's, and TSW's.
  
  Qualifications:
  Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  
  In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $87,000- $162,000 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
