variety of industries. Job Summary:A CNC Machinist I will operate
computer numerical control (CNC) mill and lathe machines to
precisely manufacture parts from raw materials like metal or
plastic, by interpreting blueprints, setting up the machine, and
monitoring the production process to ensure the finished product
meets required specifications and quality standards. Key
responsibilities include reading technical drawings, selecting
appropriate cutting tools, basic programming using CAD/CAM software
and performing quality checks on the produced parts. This is an

- Review and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals,
specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and
tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and set
up requirements.
- Align and secure holding fixtures (such as: collets, vices,
indicating vices), cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and
materials on machines, such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders,
and tooling pre-setter.
- Understand, calculate and set controls to regulate machining
factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow and enter command to
retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media;
observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or
out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control
media as required.
- Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications,
using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers,
calipers, comparator, height gauges, and gauge blocks..
- Confer with engineers, production personnel, or technical leads
to resolve machining or assembly problems.
- Comply with company requirements in completing essential
documentation as required.
- Train, assist and support new employees in producing quality
parts and in completing all process requirements.
- Assure all policies and procedures are followed and safety
precautions are taken to reduce the risk of injury.
- Maintain a clean work area and assure safe operation of all
equipment.
- Be available on reasonable notice for unscheduled overtime to
meet production schedules.
- Perform and document Operator Preventative Maintenance
operations as needed.
- Fully understand setup and operation of at least two machining
field (mills, chucker lathes, swiss lathes, grinders, EDMs, etc)
You Have:
- High School Diploma/GED or vocational equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in precision CNC Mill/Lathe
machining within a manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of machine programming capabilities through
CAD/CAM software.
- Basic understanding of GD&T and corresponding measurement
tools relative to a precision machine shop environment
(micrometers, verniers, drop gauges, optical comparators,
etc.)
- Basic Knowledge of G & M codes.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, quality inspection, creating
preventive maintenance plans, mechanical troubleshooting, and lean
manufacturing principles. You Are:

- Professional office environment with routine use of standard
office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing
cabinets and fax machine; noise level typical of a standard office
environment
- Prolonged sitting, computer and telephone use, as well as

15 pounds
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the

etc.)
