Job Description: Saab, Inc. in East Syracuse, NY is seeking an experienced Senior Assembler to join the Manufacturing/ Production team. Responsibilities will include:

• Work from wire diagrams and engineering drawings (blueprints), sketches, and other written or oral instruction to make initial layouts and accurately assemble products.
• Use hand and/or power tools as necessary to complete requires assemblies.
• Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and production or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications.
• Understand sophisticated electrical and mechanical assembly operations concepts and how they can be applied to resolve complex issues and meet the company objectives.
• Understand ESD principles and safeguarding.
• Proper use of hand tools such as torque wrenches , wire cutters, strippers & crimpers .
• Identify tasks to resolve independently.
• Be involved in process improvement and development.
• Operate and use fork trucks, automotive lifts, ladders, lifting platforms, and cranes. Compensation Range: $22.93-$27.50/hour The compensation range provided is a general guideline. Skills and Experience:
  • Associate's degree, technical/business school, or equivalent; may vary by functional area.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and assembly drawings.
  • Technical product trouble shooting skills.
  • General electronic soldering skills and inspection requirements .
  • Ability to work with a range of different sized materials: small intricate parts to larger heavy parts. Desired Skills and Experience
    • Experience working on manufacturing flow lines with multiple team members
    • Background in automotive mechanics or similar
    • Comfortable operating automated equipment, understanding of mechanical assembly and process flow. Experience may include advanced support skills and extensive knowledge of tools, software and other technologies. Physical Requirements
      • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
      • Must be able to climb stairs to elevated tower platforms.
      • Stand and walk for long periods of time.
      • Working outdoors as necessary. Citizenship Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen.
